January 2008

In spring 2003, four alternative rockers from Dortmund, Germany join to stir up the Ruhr Area music scene. During months of work, the band develops its own style far from conventions that often limit other bands' horizons.

Tom Forensico (vocals, guitar), Jan Vogedes (lead guitar), Andi Lorenzen (bass guitar) and Claas Biedebach (drums) record their first album 'Same' in the winter of 2005 in Chris Goldbach's studio in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The engineer and guitarist for the Radiobaghdad, who had already breathed life into the songs of bands like Against All Authority, becomes a good friend and achieves to put Incontrol's distinctive sound to tape.

Back in Germany, the band continues to rock the local scene. In May 2007, they embark on a mini-tour through Germany as support for Florida-based punk rockers Irish Car Bomb, who they had met two years earlier at a gig they played together near Miami, FL. Impressed by these experiences, Incontrol begin to redefine their sound.

In the summer of 2007, the new bass player David Senf brings a couple of distortion pedals to the audition and is hardly allowed to turn them off during the upcoming recordings. Because the direction is clear: more aggressiveness is the goal.

Now, they start the new year with a new album that's got something to offer. “On High In Blue Tomorrows” rocks in a darker and more aggressive way than its precursor and adds a new facet to the EmoRockWave Wall of Sound that is Incontrol. Melodies meet walls of guitars, soft delay sounds hit on hard drums, intricate arrangements get together with straight rock, airy meets earthy.

Not just because of this, the new record sounds quite a bit more noisy, with walls of guitars thicker, darker and heavier than before.

January 2006

Ever since its foundation in February 2003 INCONTROL‘S development has been following a red thread. The four members of the band, Tom Forensico (vocals, guitars), Jan Vogedes (Iead guitars), André Lorenzen (bass) and Claas Biedebach (drums), went through an intensive period of working on the band‘s style while at the same time collecting extensive live experience, and doing some serious song-writing. These experiences have added to the four Dortmund rock musicians forming an entity which is more than the sum total of its individuals. Coming from different backgrounds and having been involved in various music projects, the four musicians have found their home with INCONTROL and grown to understand that it indeed is a unique band.
Having worked hard and gained a supporting level of recognition the band was invited to come to Florida to the Carbomb Sound Studios where the band flew out to in November 2005 and taped ten energy filled songs within 7 days. Chris Goldbach, rather known for harder productions, did a fantastic job on tapping and activating the band‘s creative potential.
Sunny Pompano Beach/ Florida and a well received gig at short notice in Fort Lauderdale added to the experience and the result of this recording trip, energizing a band additionally and proving that the band as an entity has the strength to keep rocking on tour for months to make their Rock’n’Roll dream come true.
Style
While the sound is a mixture of Wall of Sound, Indie Pop and Emo, the songs range from metaphorically dealing with current affairs down to authentically tackling the miracle of love. Surely, with its classic instrumentation INCONTROL does not re-invent the wheel of music; however the flair and character it shows does not compare with other bands. Suitable for radio yet not streamlined as the majority of music on air, the band does indeed distinguish itself positively from all those one-hit-bands.
Too Pop music like for Stoners, for guitar Pop too crunchy and too accurately played INCONTROL‘s sound offers an absorbing variation of straight forward EmoRockWave, which will touch fans of good guitar music.
